We used Apple Fitness Plus for two months. Here’s what you need to know

Often in our reviews the question is “Is this thing good?”, but for the Apple Fitness+ review the real question becomes “Who is it good for?”. Four Verge staffers spent months exercising with Apple’s latest service to see how it compares to others like Peloton and if it’s worth your money.

  1. I signed up for Apple Fitness+ and really like it. I do treadmill, HIIT, and am about to buy a rowing machine. I like the way it game-ifies my fitness time, and I am try to complete all the treadmill workouts, which might take me another year. Definitely good, if you’ve got Apple devices.

  2. You have to sink a lot of money into a Peloton, whereas Apple Fitness+ has a lower cost of entry because it uses a lot of the devices you already have. Apple Fitness+ seems more for the everyday folks that have an iPhone (who doesn’t?) and an Apple Watch that want to be more healthy. ?‍♂️

  3. I know this is old, but worth a mention that the Apple Watch isn’t required for most workouts. You just don’t get the integrated metrics.

  4. I haven’t tried this yet but I have an Apple Watch, iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, air pods and iMac so I have the ecosystem. I am looking to trial this so I can give up my gym membership.

  5. Little update on this but you can now stream from your macbook by using airplay on your phone. Still a little clunky. You should be able to download the app to your macbook directly
