Why I QUIT Skincare Videos (Dermatologist)

Skincare videos are some of the most popular types of content on the internet – but the skincare world has a dirty secret… it’s basically all nonsense. In this video, I highlight the problem with the skincare industry, teach you the essential ingredients to help with the most common skin problems, and explain why this will be my last ever video about skincare.

WHAT I PERSONALLY USE:

Cerave Moisturizing Cream: https://geni.us/A2CT
Differin Gel (a gentle retinoid): https://geni.us/4mAPAO
La Roche Posay Hydrating Cleanser: https://geni.us/HFTy7E2
La Roche Posay Tinted Sunscreen: https://geni.us/EJXv

Keep in mind what I said in this video – this isn’t to say these are THE BEST products out there, just that I personally find them good, affordable, and evidence-based in theory.

  1. There's a book entitled, "Clean: The New Science of Skin." Really excellent. Points out that a lot of the beliefs about the use of skincare, deodorants, body wash originated in the marketing of the 1940s and 1950s. Personally, I find that simple is best and I do have an education in skincare.

  2. Eat your fruits n veggies and healthy animal fats, quit with the sugar and alcohol (unless it’s Cabernet Sauvignon ?? from time to time).
For my face routine, I use Vanicream face wash ( it’s natural, clean and inexpensive), Evian water, Natural quality glycerin and emu oil. I have no degree, I have no followers, I’m just real big on living social-norm free! If it doesn’t come from the earth or I can’t make it in my kitchen, I don’t trust it!
    Good luck everybody!!!

  3. I have seen them saying the same thing in different videos. Boring. For facesheets, I have used them before they were popular & it works.. temporarily .. for me. 🙂 Like your no BS content. umm, how can I get rid of flat warts on my face . thx

  4. I suffered with painful "cystic acne" for years and spent so much time and money on dermatologists and products. Took a food intolerance test and eggs and almonds have been destroying my face this WHOLE TIME!!! Eliminated these ingredients and haven't had a breakout since. Hope this helps at least one person.

  5. I used Aveeno for well over a decade and realized it was wrecking my skin and in my opinion it accelerated skin aging. I discovered it was the dimethicone. It took almost two years for my skin to rejuvenate and recover. Needless to say I AVOID all creams and lotions with this substance.

  6. I don’t have the money to see a dermatologist, and I’ve never trusted the skincare community, but I’ve had no proof until now. I’ve never known who to trust. Thanks for clearing that up.

  7. There is no extra special information that professionals know that makes any of those products super effective. It's just that the products that professionals recommend are the safest and will not harm you. Skin care is not effective

  8. I always had a suspicion!! But I'm not educated in that field and so I couldn't ever say anything. I don't buy any over the counter skincare products. Convenient stores should just take them off the shelves or at least label them as temporary effects and has no significant outcome. Cycle : reputation at least the well known derm products are extensively tested to not be dangerous. NoT that the lotions actually work.

  9. You have to live it to learn it these days. Too many ppl are keeping tight lipped and the rest of us fall for it. Thankfully we can always learn from those mistakes. And thankgoodness you are informing everyone.
